Logie Country House Wedding | Fun Wedding Photography | Michaela + Jamie
I have to say, as a photographer who has worked quite a few weddings in the Aberdeen area, Michaela and Jamie’s wedding at Logie Country House stands out as one of the most fun and idyllically relaxed celebrations I’ve been a part of. Nestled in the heart of the stunning Scottish countryside, Logie Country House is a beautiful venue that effortlessly blends rustic charm with scenic beauty – my first opportunity to photograph and film there, and an excellent backdrop for a chilled day of partying!
Having chatted to the couple at our initial meeting many months ago, their aim was to have an intimate celebration; just a fun day with their nearest and dearest as all the best weddings are. What wasn't predicted at that early point in the proceedings was that Michaela would be in the third trimester of pregnancy by the time of the big day! Not that you would have known it by the way she embraced tromping around the beautiful farm grounds in search of the perfect scenes. Absolutely game for some fun and creative photography, but more importantly she was keen to meet and mingle with the two gorgeous highland cows that live on site. it was in fact, one of the reasons Michaela and Jamie chose their venue :-) I learned that Michaela's PhD involved an in-depth knowledge of cow eyeballs - which made for unusually interesting chat! In case you're wondering, they are about the size of a swollen snooker ball ;-D
After an exceptionally chilled bridal prep, we made our way down for the ceremony in the courtyard of the house - marquee providing the (as it turns out, unnecessary) protection from the unpredictable Scottish elements. It's always a joy to hear a little insight into the couple's background and what makes them tick, whilst I cover the ceremony. This is often when the emotions start to seep out and that's always a beautiful thing to see.
Logie Country House offered the perfect mix of natural beauty and rustic charm. The weather held firm and we even caught a fleeting display of beautiful winter sunshine streaming over the grounds, so we JUMPED on that! And none of it felt forced - just a chat and a stroll in a lovely bit of countryside (as you might do on any weekend...in a beautiful, flowing wedding dress ;-D ). Michaela and Jamie are very outdoors-y and I'm sure they would've been happy to head out whatever the conditions, though I'm pleased we didn't have to put that to the test!
The rest of the day simply felt like a really fun gathering of family and buddies. Chat, canapes and boogying. And and honourable mention has to go to the soundtrack. A compilation of what I think was mainly 90's and 2000s rock numbers peppered the day from ceremony, to reception to the dancing. When you're working and the soundtrack is PUMPING it hardly feels like a job. Even the coos were impressed with it :-D
Congratulations guys!
